Belinda Antwiwaa Boateng

Hello everyone, my name is Belinda Antwiwaa Boateng. I was born in Ghana and moved to Germany some years ago. I live in Hamburg and studying International Relations here in Kleve. I am very friendly and consider myself as a social person. I love having fun in my own ways and like to do things that will make me happy. I speak English, German and other Ghanaian languages like Twi and Ga. I am open to learn other languages as well.

As a migrant, I understand how it feels to be stranded in a different country and not knowing what to do and that is why I choose to work at the Welcome Centre so I can be of help to my fellow students. Working at the welcome centre is a great opportunity for me to get to know the diversity of our University and the different cultural background of the students.
I am willing to help and support all students in the best way I can. If you are going through any difficulties and challenges and you want someone to talk to kindly contact us and we will help you find solutions. We are here for you and to make your life in Germany a smooth one.

Michalina Bialek

Hi there! My name is Michalina and I am studying Sustainable Agriculture here in Kleve. I come from Poland. I've only been living in Germany for a few of years, so my German skills are still a work in progress. It's definitely been a challenge, but I'm determined to keep learning and improving so that I can better connect with the people and culture around me.

I am fluent in Polish and advanced in English, and I'm always looking for opportunities to use my language skills. I really enjoy being able to help people, whether it is through volunteering, tutoring, or simply having conversations with people, I find joy in being able to connect with others and lend a helping hand whenever possible. This is why being a part of the Welcome Centre team is so special to me.

When I first arrived at HSRW as an international student, I remember how challenging it was figuring out where to go, who to ask, and how to feel at home in a place that was so far from home. Those experiences taught me the importance of having a supportive community.
That’s why I’m passionate about helping others feel comfortable and safe as they begin their own journeys here. Through my time with the Study Guidance team, I supported new students by organizing interactive events, sharing helpful information, and creating spaces where people could connect and feel understood.
Now, I carry that same desire to the Welcome Centre, ensuring that every student knows they’re not alone and that HSRW can truly become a home away from home.

Hi everyone,

my name is Kien Quoc Hoang, and I’m from Vietnam. I moved to Germany at the end of 2023 and am currently studying Mobility and Logistics at the Kamp-Lintfort campus. I’m very passionate about logistics, so feel free to reach out if you’d like to talk or exchange ideas about this field.
Over the past years in Germany, I’ve experienced both good times and challenges. One mindset that has helped me is: “Problems can arise anytime, stay calm and tackle them one at a time.” I’m also very glad to be part of the Welcome Centre, where I can directly support students whenever they need help. Feel free to reach out to us, we’re here for you!

I hope everyone here builds a strong foundation and enjoys their journey.

Gabriela Alfonso

Hello everyone!

My name is Gabriela Alfonso, but you can call me Gabi. I come from Colombia and I am currently studying International Management and Psychology here at Hochschule Rhein-Waal. Moving to Germany and studying abroad taught me firsthand how exciting-but also overwhelming-it can feel to adapt to a new country, a new university system, and a completely different culture.

As an international student myself, I understand how important it is to have someone who can guide you, answer your questions, and simply make you feel less alone. That is one of the reasons why being part of the Welcome Centre means so much to me. I love helping students find their way, whether it is with practical questions, university life, or just creating a space where they feel comfortable and supported.

I speak Spanish, English, and Italian fluently, and I am also improving my German every day. I enjoy connecting with people from different cultures and learning from them, while also making their experience in Germany smoother and more enjoyable. I hope to help make your time here not only easier, but also something you will remember with a smile 🙂
